I feel a sense of accomplishment as a qualified Orthodontist. I’m a proud orthodontist and the successful owner of Couture Smile.
My journey into dentistry started with my own personal experience. I was a thumb sucker from birth well into my teenage years, which affected both my teeth and facial features. As a result, I rarely smiled and often covered my mouth when speaking or smiling.
Everything changed when my mother took me to the only orthodontist in Guyana at that time, Dr.Armogan. His care completely transformed my smile and more importantly, my confidence. Since then, I haven’t stopped smiling-and I want to bring that same transformation to others.
Motivated by my experience and the need for more orthodontic care in Guyana, after pursuing my bachelors in Biology from the University of Guyana, I pursued a bachelor’s in Stomatology at Wuhan University and later a Master’s in Orthodontics at Xi’an Jiaotong University in China.
Today, I also serve as a part-time lecturer at the University of Guyana, School of dentistry, where I’m passionate about giving back-sharing both knowledge and hands-on skills with future dental professionals.
Opening Couture Smile was the fulfillment of a dream; to bring world-class orthodontic care to my home country. Our clinic’s motto, ‘Smile with Confidence,’ reflects everything I believe in- because your smile is truly your greatest accessory.
Thus, I have the distinct honor of not only employing but training other females in this field to empower them to reach their potential and fulfill their respective dreams.
