
Richard Leo is the Executive Director of AmCham Guyana, bringing years of experience in economic diplomacy and private sector development. Formerly the Economic and Commercial Specialist at the U.S. State Department, he was instrumental in fostering a favorable business climate and supporting U.S.-Guyana trade relations.
Richard holds an MBA from the University of the West Indies and is a Certified Strategy Manager (UK). He also earned a BSc in Economics and holds certifications in project management and economic statecraft. He has supported over 200 companies with market entry strategies and trade missions into Guyana.
A recipient of multiple U.S. Department of State awards, including the Superior Honor Award, Richard previously served as Curator of the Global Shapers Georgetown Hub. Through his volunteer work, he has led financial literacy programs, blood drives, and the annual HeadStart initiative, impacting over 100 rural youth each year.
