A professional with an exceptional leadership capability to guide and motivate others on the path of self-discovery to self-mastery becoming the change they seek. As an Executive Officer under the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in the Americas Region Locally known as the President’s Youth Award: Republic of Guyana, M.S.

As a Social entrepreneur, my focus is to recognize the social problems affecting the young people with whom I come into contact and to equip them with the requisite knowledge and skill to navigate whatever it is that there are faced with. To help a youth steer through the difficult challenges of life is a privilege that I hold sacred and vow never to betray the trust of whoever gave it.

“Over the years I have been privileged to travel the length and width of my beautiful country, Guyana. Meeting and spending quality time with young people and those involved with the Award programme have given me an advantage like none other to witness first-hand the positive impact the Award has on lives and communities.

We were able to encourage healthy behaviour and protect young people from health risks which have benefits not only for the individuals but for their communities from which they belong. Our intervention reduced risky behaviour in Guyana According to a report from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) from 2007; HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death among Carib-bean youth.

I Count it a privilege impacting the lives of so many young people to flourish in their personal life and by extension learning the fundamentally important elements to build sustainable communities. I am delighted that through many partnerships, the Award has reached even greater numbers of young people.
