PILLARS
The W.O.B.Y. initiative is built on two key pillars: intergenerational mentorship and training.

1. Intergenerational Mentorship
Brand YOUth Global will engage highly accomplished individuals in its Guyanese and international network to serve as mentors to the organization’s members.

This pillar debuted with the Brand YOUth Global International Women’s Forum series of conversations held digitally on consecutive Saturdays from March 12, 2022, to April 23, 2022. Each Saturday, a panel of five or six of the network’s women discussed an essential aspect of leadership for an audience of Brand YOUth members and guests. The panelists shared personal and observed experiences, success strategies for navigating the professional environment, including coping with challenges and opportunities; lessons learned from disappointments and failures.

The series also provided an opportunity for Brand YOUth members to address questions directly to the panelists, and to identify potential personal mentors among them. W.O.B.Y. will encourage and help to develop such one-on-one mentoring relationships.

2. Training
The W.O.B.Y. initiative will offer leadership-training workshops in both digital and in-person formats for its members. These will cover such critical topics as decision-making; team building; how to create high-performing teams; delegating tasks; increasing productivity; building an effective network; leading by following. As with the mentorship pillar, they will be led by members of BrandYOUth Global’s international network.

We expect to roll out the first series of workshops in December 2022.
