Candacie McGregor graduated from the Guyana School of Agriculture, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education Administration from the University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus. She has over fifteen years experience in the field of Education within the Ministry of Education, Guyana, and served as a Trained Graduate Classroom Teacher and Head of the Agricultural Science Department.
Candacie is a Senior Enforcement Officer attached to the Law Enforcement and Investigation Division, Guyana Revenue Authority. She has knowledge in the following:
- Conducting inspection and investigation including interviews, enforcement actions, case management, court preparation and testimony.
- Interpreting and applying laws/regulations to ensure compliance; with regards to the Customs, Income Tax and Value Added Tax Acts of Guyana.
She served as the Head of Anti-Smuggling Operations within Berbice Regional Operations Unit with responsibilities for Region 6.This versatile, detail-oriented, and fast learner, is as much a good team player as she is a team leader.
In addition to her excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, communication, and decision making skills, she is tactful, courteous, so quite effective when dealing with people at various organisational levels. She has the ability to work productively under emotionally challenging circumstances. She has a passion for activism.
Service to her community includes:
- Treasurer of Springlands Police Station Management Committee attached to the Guyana Police Force.
- Secretary of Corriverton Lions Club attached to Lions International.
- Regional Coordinator Children Mashramani Competition attached to the Ministry of Education
- Regional Coordinator “We Rise Guyana” project.
