Ayana McCalman, LLB, LEC(Hons), LLM (Merit), 43is a distinguished Attorney-at-Law with 20 years of experience in legal practice, corporate governance, and advocacy. A proven leader, she has served in senior legal roles for the Government of Guyana and managed her own successful legal practice, McCalman & Co Legal Services, in Guyana for 11 years. Her expertise extends to the boardroom and the classroom.

She has provided strategic legal and policy guidance as a Trustee, Director and Company Secretary for nonprofit organizations including the Guyana National Youth Council, the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association and the Council for World Mission (CWM), focused on youth development, reproductive health rights and ecumenical mission.

Ayana is now a retired lawyer, leaping into the world of creatives as an Artistic Intellectual, Writer & Storyteller, to craft soul stirring stories as the founder of Seba Grove, which is her creative writing studio that is on a mission to explore stories of growth, identity and transformation in the Caribbean. While Ayana is no longer in active daily legal practice she is focused on legal literacy for women and girls.
